２５周年目にして、なんとファイナルカット版がリリースされるそうですよ。
これは最終版("THE DIRECTOR'S CUT")DVDですが、どうもこれとは違うバージョンの模様。
Blu-Ray/HD-DVDで出る上に、今まで出回っている５バージョンが１セットになったDVD版もでるらしい。
学生の頃、ボイスオーバー付き＆ハッピーエンドの版を見ましたが、あまり明るくない未来の描写は衝撃的。当時、LaserDiscでも買って、狂った様にみてました。
未来感はブレードランナー・未来世紀ブラジル・時計仕掛けのオレンジの３本で確定。
今見返すとセットが安っぽかったりするけれど、この世界観を現在に照らしてみると当たらずとも遠からずという印象。テクノロジーが進歩して周辺状況が変われば違う問題がどんどん出てくるように見えるが、問題の本質ってのはそんなに違わないんじゃない？という示唆かな。
さて、ファイナルカット版では、最後のユニコーンにどういう解釈を与えるのだろうか？与えないでくれた方が楽しみが残る気がしないでもない（w。
