北海道まで行ったのは弾みだけど、震災地を早い時期にこの目で見ておこうとは思ってました。
フェリーの出発は午後5時で乗船手続きは１時間前の４時までに着かなければならない。横浜〜仙台は平時で6時間だけど、GW初日＆震災影響を考慮して9時間かかると見て、午前6時に出ることにしました。
首都高から東北道に入ったまでは順調でしたが、20〜30kmクラスの渋滞を4回ほど食らいまして、仙台港まで8時間半かかりました。右足が吊りそうになった（w
高速道の被害は福島県内が酷くて、橋と土盛りの間で段差が出来てしまったのを舗装で埋めたり、法面が崩れたのを土嚢で補強しているところなどあって、50km、80km制限が掛かってるところがあってかなり渋滞してました。それでも日本の土木技術で１ヶ月程で直してしまってるのが凄い。一方、宮城県に入ると地震なんてあったの？状態で順調に流れ始めました。内陸部の仙台南ICから仙台南部道路へ。片側一車線、途中追い抜き箇所ありのバイパスっぽい作りでこちらも大きな被害があるようには見えなかったです。
さらに海岸沿いを走る仙台東部道路に入りましたが、津波が畑や道路上の車を飲み込んでどんどん遡って来るヘリからの中継がありましたが、その界隈ということで、こちらは別世界。
左手陸側は浸水はあったものの普通の風景という感じですが、右手海側は一面瓦礫の山。真っ先に復旧させるべき地域でもないという判断なのか手つかずという状況。非常に良くまとまった映像がありましたので、貼っておきます。
こんな状況の中を北上しつつ、仙台港北ICで高速を降りました。一般道に出てみると予想に反して、道沿いの店も案外営業しててい意外？？ しかし、仙台港に近づくにつれて、復旧を頑張ってるお店が現れ始めました。さらに、その先は津波を食らって完全に営業を諦めてもぬけの空になった店、さらにその先は瓦礫の山！という状況でした。
こんな状況で本当に仙台港から乗れるの？？とナビを頼りに港内に入りましたが、瓦礫の山に案内されてしまって引き返し。別の道で警官を見つけたのでフェリーターミナルの場所を聞いてみたところ、岐阜県から来たので判りません！とのこと。ううむ、使えん〜〜と思ったが、お勤めご苦労様ということで、自力で到着。
フェリー事務所も一階は津波を食らって窓ガラスは破れてるし中は泥だらけで、二階の本来は待合室の場所で手続き。待合室の一角に机やパソコンなどを持ち込んで、臨時の乗船カウンターを作って間s他が、制服を身にまとった職員がハキハキと処理してました。横で手続きしてたおっちゃんが職員に「俺も被災してね〜」と言ってましたが「私も被災者ですが、こうして仕事が再開出来て嬉しいです」と答えてたのに感動。ここへ来て良かった！と、旅の目的の殆どを達成した感。
