結局３台も手に入れてしまった。
右からPlanex CQW-MRB,Covia CMR-250,cardlepoint PHS300です。
CQW-MRBはFOMA L-02Aと繋いでいたのだけど、接続までに時間がかかるし、途中でリブートが掛かることが多くて、実用性に欠けるのが難点。電源系の設計に問題があるのか、モデムへの給電容量が少なくて接続が切れるらしい。見かけに寄らず結構重たい。
これのいいのは有線LANの口があって、LANからFOMAに繋ぐのと、有線LANをインターネット側に繋いで無線APに使えるくらい。
次のCMR-250は中古で発見したので仕様も確認せずにゲット。これもFOMAかeモバイル専用。接続までの時間はかなり短縮されたし、発熱もせずにバッテリーもかなり持つので結構良い。ただし無線LAN専用。
最後のPHS300も中古だったが、WILLCOM PHSで使えるのを確認してゲット。PHS300のPHSはPersonal Hot Spotの略というのは後から気づいた。ソフトの出来はこれが一番良いです。定額980円契約のWILLCOM NS001U+RX420INを繋いだところ、接続まで20秒も掛からない感じ。これの電源を先に入れてから、iPod Touchをおもむろに取り出すと丁度接続が出来てます。バッテリーもかなり持ちます。
ということで、ここ一週間ほどこれを持ち歩いております。バスでも電車でもほぼ切れることないです。PHSなので速度は最速でも160kbpsくらいしか出ませんが、テキストベースの利用だと問題ないです。

結局気兼ねなく使えるのが良いですね。パソコン使いたい時、パケット気にしながら使うより、遅くても使い放題の方が精神衛生上良いと思う。
