天王洲まで乗りに行ってきました。
以前、E92 M3に試乗に行ったのですが、そのときの名前が残ってたのかMシリーズの試乗会のお誘いが来たので行ってきました。
特別展示で歴代のM3(E30,E36,E46)が並んでたのがこの画像。個人的には大学時代に医学部横の道路に止めてあったE30 M3が印象的です。オーバーフェンダーが特徴ですなぁ。E46 M3はまじめに購入を検討してたのだけど、気が付いたら既に生産中止で今の車になったわけですが〜。
試乗はM3クーペ・セダン×MTないしDCTのほか、M5、M6, Z4Mなどありましたが、マッチョカーのM5に乗せてもらいました。
M5のトランスミッションはSMGというもので、シングルクラッチ方式のロボタイズドMTです。Alfa Romeoのセレスピードと同様の仕組み。
乗り込んで発進してみましたが、違和感は全然なくて拍子抜けでした。違和感という意味ではトルコンなのに踏み込まないとクリープしないティプロトニクSや、さらに踏み込まないと発進しないPDKのほうがあるかも。
アクセルペダルを踏み込んでみると、ボロロロという低めのエンジン音とともに猛烈な加速。5l V10 500psという性能なので、正気一般道じゃ全然引っ張れません。
ブレーキはやっぱり初期制動が効き過ぎでカックンブレーキですなぁ。ハンドルも軽くてかつ切れ込みが大きい感じで、でっかいM3という感じ。時期から言うと本当はM3が小さいM5なんでしょうけど。
現行M3でも持て余し気味なので、1シリーズベースのMシリーズを作ってもらえるといいかもしれない。

Mやらポルの排気音・エンジン音は同じイイ音でもどこか理性的というか左脳に響いてる感じですが、Alfaやらフェラーリ系のイタ車のそれは明らかに右脳直撃チックな官能的（TopGearでは使用禁止用語（笑））な印象をもっておりまする。
